Queensland Secondary School Football Selections

Massive congratulations go out to Kiana and Jayden for their selection into their respective state squads for 15 girls and 16 boys.

Well done.

Some great work going on yesterday morning with our FCI football sessions.
We must also welcome back our groundsman Mr Peter Draney and acknowledge his  contribution to the high quality surface our students get to work on.

On Friday, 8 June we welcomed Nick Green, youth academy coach from the UK to our junior 'before-school' lesson.

Nick has worked with League 2 clubs Hartlepool United and Lincoln City and was recently at Wembley with Lincoln in The Football League Academy Cup final.

Following the boys’ success in round one of The Bill Turner Cup, the team now travels to Ipswich Grammar School for round two on Wednesday, 6 June. Good luck.

Year 9 FEP Referee Cert IV Training
This term the Year 9 FEP class have been working with Football QLD referee assessor Mr Adrian O’Connor during their TAM sessions. On completion of the course, students will be qualified to officiate at junior football games.
This is an excellent way for our students to gain a different insight into the game and learn some valuable life skills ion the process. We thank Adrian for his valued time and effort with the students.

This week we welcome back Year 8 student Lachlan Jeffers from his overseas futsal tour. Lachlan was part of the Australian Futsal Association’s 13 boys’ squad that travelled to Barcelona to train and play in some competitive games. This was a fantastic achievement from Lachlan, and we look forward to seeing some special moves in the upcoming SEQ championships later in the term.

It is always fantastic to hear about former FEP students excelling in the game and it is with great pride that we congratulate Sam Lowrie and Jay Broughton on their recent achievements.

Both boys represented Australia at the recent International Futsal Alliance Under 20 World Cup in Spain and capped off a fantastic tournament by finishing World Champions, defeating Catalonia 5-3 in a very dramatic final. These are two very dedicated boys who have worked extremely hard to get to this level, and we wish them good luck in future events.

SEQ School Futsal Titles Girls' Results: Finals

A great effort from our girls at Friday's knock-out finals. Unfortunately the Under 16's were beaten by St Andrews College in a close game. This really was a great achievement by the girls as most of the team was made up of Year 8's, 9's and 10's. Well done to Nicole, Annika, Kiana, Lea, Sophia, Bella and Sophie.

Our Open Girls capped off a brilliant day's play by defeating Murrumba Downs SC in the grand final. The team was undefeated, scoring 20 goals and conceding only 2. Good luck at State Championships in Term 3.
