United Nations Youth ‘Evatt’ competition

We are extremely proud of Year 12 Legal Studies students Ben Jackman and Jessica Freiberg. On Saturday, 26 August they competed in the Grand Final of the United Nations Youth ‘Evatt’ competition. The mock United Nations council was held in City Hall where our students performed well. Some of the issues discussed in the Grand Final included Russia’s interference in the US elections and turmoil in the Gaza Strip. Ben and Jess were representing Japan and argued strongly for their country’s agenda. Unfortunately we did not make the national team, but it is quite impressive that Ben and Jess managed to make the Grand Final. In previous rounds of the competition they had represented Bolivia and Italy. Well done to you both.
