Football Excellence Program

8/12/2017

Once again, the Football Excellence Program has had an extremely busy, successful and rewarding year, with over one hundred athletes participating in activities ranging from practical lessons to national and international competitions.

Supporting and nurturing the football and social development of our students underpins everything we do in the Football Program at Albany Creek, and the number of students achieving individual representative honours in 2017 was extremely rewarding. In football, twenty students gained district selection with ten of these making Met North squads. In futsal, nine students represented SE Queensland at National level with four others making overseas trips as part of The Australian Futsal Association’s representative tours.  What a fantastic achievement and experience!

We would like to acknowledge the support of our coaching partners FCI and specifically Paul, Jake, Tom and Sam. A big thank you also goes to referee education officer Mr Adrian O’Connor who has worked with our students on a regular basis in the area of football officiating. This has certainly been a rewarding aspect of the program, for our seniors, and we look forward to Adrian’s input next year.

To our parent body, thank you for your much appreciated, ongoing support during 2017 and we look forward to working with you all next year.

Finally, a special thank you to all of our footballers for your commitment, attitude and hard work this year.
